What is ChatGPT?
Speaking of AI, ChatGPT is one of
the newest tools that everyone is talking about. According to my research OpenAI describes
it as a trained model that works in a conversational way. "The dialogue
format makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer follow up questions, admit its
mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate
requests." (OpenAI)
Innovative tools such as this one continues to be on the rise; however, it raises the question of how beneficial or harmful they can be. Here is an article from Forbes "Here’s What To Know About OpenAI’s ChatGPT—What It’s Disrupting And How To Use It" that discusses some concerns with such models. According to the article, Microsoft's Bot named Tay as well as Meta's Bot named BlenderBot3, faced out very quickly due to misogynistic and racist rhetoric learned from users within 24 hours of launch. Unlike Siri or Alexa, ChatGPT does not draw its answers from the internet, but from datasets. Some drawbacks mentioned in the article are the knowledge base ending in 2021, as well as a tendency to produce incorrect answers. This is a major concern in the era of technology when misinformation is very easy to spread online.
After reading about it from different sources, I decided to try it out. My professor dared us to have ChatGPT write a blog post about building a brand in the metaverse. Here are the results.......Let me know your thoughts!
